The program - stages of the project realization

The main aim of the project is to implement an innovative testing programpreparing the employees of social service institutions to work with families and individuals who need social help in the area of risk generated by cyberspace.

I. Problem diagnosis and analysis

The purpose of the diagnosis is gathering knowledge about the nature of the problems and their reasons through the analysis of the existing research results and publications. Additionally, more research will be carried out among the users of the project concerning the threats created by cyberspace.  

The final outcome of this stage will be a report on the performed activities containing the arrangements and recommendations for the project.

A presentation of the key arrangements and recommendations for the project will be made during a working panel meeting.


II. Establishing and developing supranational partnership

The transnational partner of the Pedagogical University in Warsaw in this innovative project is Rezekne Higher Education Institution.

The cooperation of the two partners will concentrate on developing the strategy of implementing the innovative testing project as well as a preliminary version of the innovative development program for social service workers.


The partnership will involve:

  1. two study visits of the experts from the Pedagogical University in Warsaw at it’s Latvian Partner,
  2. two study visits of the experts from Rezekne Higher Education Institution in Poland,
  3. working panel meeting held by the two Partners.

The added value of the project are the products common for both partners, which can bring benefits to target groups from different countries.

Developing the innovative testking project in the transnational context will enable the Pedagogical University in Warsaw to compare the Polish handling of the problem identified in the project with the solutions used in other countries.


III. Preparing preliminary version of the product and the strategy of implementing the innovative project

The results of the diagnostic research and analyses carried out earlier as well as the process of establishing partnership can confirm the validity of the planned activities which aim at putting the innovative tool into practice.

At this stage a planned  description of the achieved product will be prepared again.

Representatives of the target groups will be involved in the activities. They can make a valuable contribution to the final shape of the product by representing the point of view of the product user and recipient.

The activities at this stage include:

1. Preparing the strategy of implementing the innovative project

The strategy of implementing the innovative training project will be a description of how the Pedagogical University in Warsaw together with it’s Partner will check whether the innovation works as planned and what effects it can produce when used in practice. Additionally, the strategy will describe how the product will be popularized and included in the mainstream social policy.

The strategy will also be useful for the institutions financing the project as it will allow checking if the activities proceed as planned.

The strategy can make the process of developing the innovation public since it is evaluated by the team of partners.

 

2. Preparing a preliminary version of the product

Preliminary version of the product i.e. Development Program for Social Service Workers will be the outcome of theanalyses and in-depth diagnostic research of the cyberspace threats as well as the conclusions reached by the experts in the process of partnership development.

3. Popularizing the product and including it in the mainstream social policy

The aim of popularizing activities will be to inform the future users and beneficiaries about the product and obtaining feedback from them.

For this reason a special questionnaire for sending comments will be placed on the project website. Additionally, during an organised seminar there will be presented a report with the diagnosis and analysis of the problem and the preliminary version of the product. The project users and beneficiaries will have the opportunity to make comments and express their opinions.

IV. Testing the product - an innovative develompent program for social service workers

Testing is the key part of an innovative project and it consists in checking how the product operates in a real-life situations. Representatives of the target group – both users and beneficiaries of the product – will take part in the testing.

In the case of the innovative development program for social service workers the testing will consist in:

1. Organizing trainings for social workers covering for following topics:

  • physical and psychological health disorders,
  • social and educational risks,
  • infoholism and computer games addictions,
  • cybercrime.

2. Meetings of the testing stage participants with project team experts

3. Monitoring of the product testing process by the experts

V. Analyzing the results of the product testing

Examining the actual effects of the product testing includes:

1 Gathering the following data during the testing stage:

  • opinions of the people carrying out the tests - representatives of the target group,
  • opinions of the observers (project team),
  • evaluation of the product usage effects.

2.External evaluation carried out immediately after the completion of the testing stage

The external evaluation aims at answering the following questions: Is the given solution an attractive alternative for the methods used so far? What influences its effectiveness? Is it possible to enhance the effectiveness of the proposed methods? What conditions must be fulfilled?

3. Popularizing the product and including it in the mainstream social policy

4. The final outcome of this stage will be a report containing the internal analysis of the testing results and the evaluator’s report

VI.Elaborating the innovative development program for social service workers

  1. Developing the final version of the product involves a detailed preparation of all the materials which must be included in the final product.
  2. The final product will be the development program for social    service workers in the form of a textbook including the following parts:
  • diagnosis of the problem and the main cyberspace threats,
  • instructions for educating in the area of cyberspace threats,
  • methodology of working with people exposed to cyberspace threats,
  • strategy of implementing the development program.

The final product is subject to validation: it is checked whether it is as adequate and useful as assumed.

VII. Popularizing the innovative development  program for social workers    and including it in the mainstream social policy

At this stage of the project the final product is popularized among the target group members and decision makers and included in the mainstream social policy. It is made available to the public to be used in accordance with the assumed goals of the project and adequately to the project’s profile.

The aim of popularizing the program is informing all the potentially interested parties about the product.

Including the product in the mainstream social policy aims at making it more widespread in the future.

Popularizing of the product and including it in the mainstream policy will be done by means of:

  1. Organizing a conference summarizing the project during which there will be presented all the assumed goals of the project and the final product – the innovative development program for social workers – which will be popularized and included in the mainstream social policy;
  2. Sending the Development Program for Social Service Workers to the institutions educating social service workers.
